Assessment of Losses in Harvesting and Threshing by Manual Method for Wheat and Maize Crop in Samastipur District, Bihar, India

This research was conducted at Borlaug Institute of South Asia (BISA) Pusa, Bihar to assess the losses in harvesting and threshing by manual methods for wheat maize. 5 farmers from 15 identified villages were selected Samastipur district assessing maize crop. It observed that all 1.65% 2.30% 1.20%, respectively. Wheat Threshing Loss found highest 3.35% Mirjapur village lowest 1.18% Rampura. Maize be Pratapur 1.66% 0.85% Ladaura. The less as compared due low loss, it is because long-stalked cubs corn, which there no settling loss. increase probably delays unseasonal rains storms, when crop ready some cases use technologies agricultural level. There a need training while reduce grain.
